Project cargo and out-of-gauge (OOG)

Out-of-gauge cargo and projects beyond the market standard, studied and executed door to door.

What it solves

When cargo exceeds the dimensions or weight of standard equipment, or a project requires coordinating several shipments from different origins, the operation must be designed case by case: route, equipment, permits and shipping windows.

What Centaurea does

  • Operation study: dimensions, weight, route and required equipment;
  • Packing and cargo preparation at origin;
  • Special inland transport (OOG inland) and multimodal coordination;
  • Specific permits and adaptations when the project requires them;
  • Customs clearance at origin and destination and delivery at the installation site.

Frequently asked questions

When is cargo considered OOG or project cargo?

OOG (out of gauge) is cargo whose dimensions or weight exceed the limits of standard containers and trailers. Project cargo involves equipment or sets of shipments from the same project that require specific planning.

Which modes are used for project cargo?

It depends on the project. The portfolio includes air transport on a Boeing 747-400, ocean freight and special road transport on multi-axle trailers.

Can several origins be coordinated at once?

Yes. In the Coamo plant project, cargo left five countries on four continents simultaneously, in a single coordinated operation.

What information is needed to study a project cargo?

Dimensions and weight of each piece, pickup and delivery locations, project timeline and known restrictions at the installation site.
